Mandelic Acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) named after the German mandel (almond) and derived from bitter almonds, has been studied extensively at the Gateway Aesthetic Institute and Laser Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, for the past three years. Research originally began to further explore the antibiotic nature of mandelic acid in hopes that patients who suffer from wrinkles and acne would see improvement.
